Durox srl

The Company
Durox Srl is an Italian company based in Remanzacco (UD), specialized in aluminum anodizing for technical applications and precision mechanics. The company operates with a highly specialized positioning, focused on process control, performance repeatability, and treatment reliability in service, within industrial contexts where the coating represents a functional element of the component.
Durox is part of the Micron Coatings Group, an industrial group dedicated to high-performance surface treatments, which integrates complementary expertise on different materials and processes:
- Micron srl – Electroless Nickel Plating (Soncino, CR) | NIPLATE® family coatings
- Durox srl – Aluminum Anodizing (Remanzacco, UD) | OX family coatings
This integration enables coordinated technical support in selecting the most appropriate treatment and managing multi-process supplies.
Specialization in the Anodizing Process
Durox performs natural anodizing and hard anodizing of aluminum, with specific expertise in treating wrought alloys, as well as cast and die-cast alloys.
The treatments provided include:
- Natural anodizing (Type II)
- Hard anodizing (Type III)
- technical variants for special applications (e.g., OX-W for critical alloys)
- functional and/or aesthetic options: coloring (black, blue, red), sealing, PTFE impregnation
Durox operates as a surface treatment supplier and as a technical partner in defining coating specifications and boundary conditions (alloy, initial finish, pre-treatment tolerances, masking, functional areas).
Application Sectors
The experience gained enables Durox to operate in various industrial sectors where anodizing performs a critical function for component performance and reliability, including:
- automotive and electric vehicles
- aerospace and defense
- machinery and automation
- packaging and food processing
- bike and motorcycle
- medical and pharmaceutical
- marine and offshore
Control, Validation, and Technical Support
Durox supports customers in treatment selection and validation through targeted technical activities, which may include:
- definition of specifications and requirements (thickness, hardness/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, dimensional constraints)
- sampling and feasibility tests on critical alloys and geometries
- technical coordination with machine shops on tolerances, finishes, and surface preparation
- management of masking and requirements on functional areas
- process controls and measurements (thickness, dimensional checks, functional controls)
Production Capacity and Flexibility
Durox has dedicated facilities for aluminum anodizing and manages batches from sampling and pre-series to repetitive production. Maximum treatable dimensions reach up to 7.5 meters in length.
The company is capable of managing complex masking to protect functional areas (threads, sealing seats, mating surfaces) and coordinating with the customer the dimensional tolerances necessary to ensure treatment compatibility with component assembly and operation requirements.
Operational flexibility allows treatment of both high production volumes and small sampling batches, maintaining constant coating quality standards and ensuring delivery times compatible with customer needs.
Quality System, Compliance, and Regulatory Requirements
Durox operates according to an ISO 9001 certified quality management system, with controlled, documented, and traceable processes, oriented toward continuous improvement.
Available compliance and declarations (based on customer requirements and application):
- REACH (EC Reg. 1907/2006) and SVHC declarations
- RoHS (Dir. 2011/65/EU)
- food contact requirements: EN 14392 (for sealed treatments, on suitable alloys) and FCM framework (EC Reg. 1935/2004) / GMP (EC Reg. 2023/2006)
- CMRT/EMRT for conflict minerals declarations (where required)
